Note that it states the minecraft and forge version, in the middle in small print. You can go here by clicking on the icon for the modpack (Above the "Play" button) in the curse launcher. If you don't know what version the pack uses, it can be found here. To automatically install forge: click "install forge" (on the right) and select the version you're going to use. To manually install forge: Download the requisite version of forge (or forgemodloader) and use the "edit instance" -> (bottom right) "add jar mod" function. Note that if you're using an older version of minecraft (1.4.7 or so), the automatic forge installer will not work and it must be done manually. Right click on the instance you've created and select "edit instance". You can name it using the top box (by default it takes on the version number).Īt this point you will be required to log in to download the vanilla assets. Click the ellipsis () and select the version of minecraft the modpack you want to use utilizes. Select "Vanilla Minecraft" (the "Import Modpack" button works on modpacks exported from multimc, not from other launchers currently). To set up a new instance, click on the single sheet of paper (new instance) button in multimc. On mac, this gives you a copy of "MultiMc.app" that you can put in the applications folder. On windows, this gives you a set of folders you can run multimc from (You can make shortcuts to the taskbar and desktop by right clicking on multimc.exe).
